This 1938 Oldsmobile Custom Club Coupe combines distinctive pre-war styling with a thoughtfully upgraded drivetrain and modern road manners. Retaining its all-steel body, the car has been transformed into a characterful street rod designed for relaxed cruising rather than strict factory originality. Finished in bright red, the Oldsmobile has a striking presence with its tall chrome grille, flowing front wings, split rear windows, exposed bonnet sides and rounded coupe profile. Chrome bumpers, polished hubcaps and new wide-whitewall tires complete the traditional custom look. Power comes from a 350 V8 fitted with a Vintage Speed Tri-Power carburetor setup and Sanderson headers, sending power through a TH400 automatic transmission with Gear Vendors overdrive. A Currie nine-inch rear axle with 31-spline shafts, 3.70 gearing and Truetrac limited-slip differential provides a suitably strong driveline. The chassis has been upgraded with a Jaguar independent front end and four-wheel disc brakes, while Vintage Air conditioning, tilt steering and a power-adjustable driver’s seat improve everyday usability. Shaved exterior door handles with remote release preserve the smooth body lines.
